Hilti : Distributor Websites & Product Catalogs

Webflow development

What I solved for Hilti

The main challenge was to design a scalable, multilingual, and multi-region system that could handle a large volume of product information while remaining user-friendly for distributors and customers. By creating advanced CMS collections with multiple categories, subcategories, and relationships, I enabled distributors to manage their products efficiently, even when products appeared in multiple contexts.

The project also required implementing a robust search system, ensuring users could quickly find specific products among thousands of items. The CMS and content structures were built to be maintainable and flexible, allowing future expansions into other regions while keeping consistent branding and usability.

The result is a fully functional, scalable Webflow ecosystem that supports distributor autonomy, simplifies product management, and improves customer experience across multiple regions.

Overview

Hilti is a globally recognized tools and equipment company. This project involved developing Webflow websites for distributors across the Caribbean and LATAM regions, with later expansions to Africa and the Middle East. The goal was to provide independent distributors with fully functional websites under their own branding while maintaining consistency with Hilti’s global standards.

Each distributor needed a platform to list products for sale, share technical information, and communicate with customers through blog content.

CMS & Product Catalogs

A major challenge of the project was managing a vast amount of product data and documents. Each product required photos, technical specifications, usage instructions, and feature details. Many products were listed in multiple categories and subcategories, which demanded advanced CMS architecture and relationships.

Webflow’s CMS was used to its full potential, creating dynamic catalogs that could handle this complexity efficiently. A custom search functionality was also implemented, allowing users to quickly find products by name or feature.

In addition to product catalogs, a blog system was implemented for each distributor to post articles related to their products, sharing tips, news, and updates. The structure needed to be flexible, scalable, and easy to maintain across multiple regions and languages.
